Saakshi Khanijou
Hi, my name is Saakshi, and I’m the Director and Psychotherapist at SEEN.
I am a passionate counsellor who works in a person-centered approach, meaning I meet clients where they are at emotionally and place strong value on the therapeutic relationship as a central part of the healing process. I believe that being deeply seen, heard, and understood creates the conditions for meaningful and lasting change.
I aim to offer a calm, compassionate space where you can slow down, explore your inner world, and begin to make sense of your experiences. Therapy with me is collaborative and paced with care, allowing space for curiosity, reflection, and self-understanding to unfold naturally.
I am of Punjabi ethnicity, was born and raised in Thailand, and am now based in Brisbane, Australia. Having lived across multiple cultural contexts has shaped the way I hold nuance around identity, family systems, and belonging within therapy. At the same time, my approach is grounded in the belief that healing is fundamentally human, and I warmly welcome individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, and identities into the therapeutic space.
Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, spending time with loved ones, vibing to Bollywood music, and travelling - things that help me stay grounded, present, and connected.

More About My Practice
SEEN is a space where you are invited to show up as you are.
At the heart of this practice is a trauma-informed, person-centred approach grounded in the belief that healing begins when we feel safe enough to be ourselves and to be witnessed without judgement. Therapy here is not about fixing or rushing change, but about creating the space to listen, understand, and gently explore what is happening within you.
This is a place to learn more about yourself, to become curious about patterns and emotions, and to relate to your experiences with greater compassion. Through this process, new understanding can emerge - and with it, the possibility for healing and transformation.
I hold a double Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling, and have over 5 years of experience working people of all ages. My work is informed by additional training in modalities such as Somatic Therapy, Sandplay Therapy and Symbol Work, Mindfulness-Based approaches, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Circle of Security Parenting, and Transpersonal Psychotherapy. Each session is tailored to you, drawing thoughtfully from these frameworks to support your unique healing journey. I also speak Hindi and Thai and bring a strong understanding of multicultural and cross-cultural experiences to my work.
Sessions are offered via telehealth, with the option of in-person session in Brisbane, Australia available upon request.
